Wrong God, Wrong Aim, Wrong Destiny Pastor Peter Malcolm Crusade night #2
FOCUS TEXT: Matthew 6:19-34 KJV
If we are worshipping the wrong God we will have the wrong aim and ultimately end up at the wrong destination.
This message speaks to focus.
Where is your focus?
What is occupying your thoughts?
What do you ponder about the most?
A person’s heart can be known by their focus. Many persons are fixated on sports whether it be premier league football, the NBA or Usain’s next big win, for others it is money, and for others it is politics. Our points of focus are as diverse as we are. We must be careful what we focus on.
If we do not have a Godly focus and a heavenly agenda we are going to be in trouble. Is your focus really God and the things of His kingdom?
If we lay up for ourselves treasures on earth the word of God tells us, even assures us that they will be devoured they have no lasting value.
Our earthly possessions and human concerns should not be our ultimate focus. Our ultimate concern should be the things of almighty God. We must
remember that the strategy of the enemy is to distract us with worldly things so that we lose our focus.
The latter portion of the focus text serves as a lesson in perspective and focus. God is always focused on us, yet our focus has drifted away from Him. God instructs us to focus first and foremost on the things of God. These things should have all our attention in this life. The word of God tells us that if we have the right focus all things will work out in our favour because God never loses focus, He is always focused on us.
We cannot focus on God’s kingdom and not focus on the king, the one who is at the helm.
JESUS CHRIST MUST BE FIRST IN OUR LIVES!
We must always be in right standing with God, in a close, intimate, meaningful relationship with Him. God needs to be Lord of all or not Lord at all.
Our relationship with God is out most valuable possession.
From dust we came and to dust we shall return and only what we do for JESUS CHRIST in that time span will matter.
WHERE IS YOUR FOCUS???
