God's Inseparable Love
Speaker: Pastor Delroy Bryan (3.12.17)
Topic: God’s inseparable love (Romans 8:28-39)
Introduction:
Romans 8:28-39 can be classified as one of the most inspiring passages of scripture. It assures us that no matter what we go though in our Christian life God is always there for us. At the time of the writing of this book Christians were under severe persecution by the roman emperor, they were being harmed physically and emotionally. Paul assured the Christians in his letter to hold fast to the inseparable love of God.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In spite of all the things listed above that cannot separate us from the love of God, we ourselves can separate ourselves from God, this is so because God allows us to have free will and choice and in this we can even choose to separate us from this wonderful God and his love. God is so loving in that even when we make poor choices God makes provision for us to return to him.
God loves us: UNCONDITIONALLY
Unlike many of us who love others because of their personality or physical appearance BUT God loves us because HE is LOVE.
1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
No matter who we are or what we have done God cannot help but love us because he is love. His love is unconditional it matters not to God who we are.
Many of us unfortunately have refused this wonderful love and rejected the salvation that Jesus offers freely to all.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM
should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God loves us despite our circumstances, God will not abandon us during our time of need. He is there with us and loves us in the good times and the bad times. God is his love will accept us in any state and gives us new life in him.
2. Some of God’s blessings are: CONDITIONAL
God’s love is unconditional but some of His blessings are conditional on:
Our faith (believing in God that He is able)
Our obedience
The will of God.
1 John 3:22-23
And whatsoever we ask,
WE RECEIVE OF HIM, BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS,
AND DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT.
And this is his commandment, that
WE SHOULD BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, and LOVE ONE ANOTHER,
as he gave us commandment.
1 John 5:13-14
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that,
IF WE ASK ANY THING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE HEARETH US:
We have to understand that in his infinite wisdom and love God will grant unto us what He wills and what He knows is best for us. God’s expectation is that we live lives that are pleasing to Him.
God’s goal for our lives is that we become more like Jesus.
3.ALL of us need Jesus
No matter what we desire or have received in this world we ALL NEED JESUS.
No matter if we are divided socially, economically, financially, politically, physically, geographically, culturally; we are all united by our need for JESUS CHRIST!
Everyone needs Jesus, if we don’t have Jesus we have nothing.
1 John 5:11
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Challenge: Have you separated yourself from God’s love? Have you chosen to allow God to rule your life? How important is God in your life?
